Sr. Unix (AIX) Administrator
Unique opportunity to be hired as a Sr. AIX Administrator and be trained as a SAP Basis Administrator.
Monthly breakdown of duties:
AIX Admin duties: 20 hours
TSM duties: 20 hours
SAP Basis: 20 hours
SAN: 1/3 of week for first six months due to large SAN project
Project Work: remainder of the month
This senior position has the primary responsibility of IBM AIX and System administration, performance monitoring, IBM TSM Backup administration along with Application support/design and some SAP Basis support. A person in this position will be applying their advanced IBM AIX, Application business knowledge to support the company in Design, Development, Implementation, Production Support, and Disaster Recovery. They will also be part of setting the technical direction for our UNIX architecture along with being responsible for planning the direction of our current environment. Candidate should have a strong understanding and experience in networking including TCP/IP, routing and routers, DHCP and DNS. Candidate should be willing to work from home when needed to support a 7x24 Production environment.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor*s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Five or more years of UNIX system administration experience in a Production IBM AIX environment
Seven or more years of UNIX system administration experience in a Development IBM AIX, or similar UNIX environment
Five or more years of TSM/ADSM administration experience (database mgmt, TDP*s, LTO Libraries).
Three or more years of Production Data Center operations and environmental controls.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements
Experience in supporting, maintaining, and tuning AIX UNIX systems and Linux.
Experience with Change Management in a production environment.
Experience in administration and support of TSM, TDP*s (Oracle, SAP, Exchange, and SQL) and LTO tape libraries.
Experience with building, and configuring TCP/IP networks.
Experience with networking and UNIX security applications (Traceroute, Snoop, DNS, DHCP, Sendmail, ssh).
Experience with SAP system administration (R/3, BW, Solution Manager, TRM, or APO) a plus
Experience with EDI, GIS, Advantage, I2, IXOS, or RightFax applications is a plus.
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Demonstrated deep technical knowledge.
General knowledge of Data Center environmentals including generator, transfer switch, UPS, air conditioners, and monitoring of these systems a plus.
Exceptional Problem solving, and interpersonal skills required.
Exceptional written and oral skills required.
