Sales Engineer - Rockville, MD Job Description:
Aerotek Engineering is currently looking for a Sales Engineer for a client of theirs in Rockville, MD. The client would ideally like to find someone with excellent communication skills, software development experience, and the ability/interest to sell a product. Job Description:
-Identifying and understanding key customer technical requirements and articulating the value proposition of client's product line
-Responding to customer requests for information including the completion of RFIs and RFPs
-Delivering presentations and demonstrations of the client's software to technical and non-technical audiences
-Customizing demonstrations to customer requirements using HTML, DHTML, Java code, and JSP/JSF.
-Working closely with customers to plan and perform onsite "proof of concept/benchmark" tests of the software
-Architecting solutions and working closely with professional services team to develop customer implementation plans as part of sales proposals
-Working closely with EAM?s to build financial justification and ROI to help close sales opportunities
-Building and maintaining strong customer relationships as primary technical point-of-contact during pre-sales activities, implementation, and transition to post-sales support
-Working closely with Product Management and Engineering to prioritize customer enhancement requests and to plan and to contribute to future product releases.
Required Skills
-2+ years IT operations experience in an IT operations role (e.g. System Administrator (Java Preferred), Software Engineer, Development Lead, etc.)
-Effective live and web-based presentation skills with proficiency in PowerPoint and Visio
-Effective business writing skills with proficiency in Word, Adobe, and Excel
-Hands-on experience building the following technical skills: Solaris, AIX, Linux, HPUX, Windows NT/2000 systems administration ,Oracle or SQL Server database administration experience, J2EE application deployment and administration WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache, iPlanet, or other common web server, application server. Report development
-Experience working with established IT operations methodologies
Business Intelligence / report development
-Self-motivation and ability to quickly understand complex, customer IT infrastructures
-Flexibility as demonstrated in ability to travel as required, to work from home, to work hours required to make the region successful.
-Travel ? 30% to 60%
