Loan Officer
Bedford, TX
In this role you will examine, evaluate, and recommend approval of customer applications for residential real estate loans by performing duties to include interviewing applicants and requesting specified information for loan application to include applicant credit reports, background/reference checks, and other information pertinent to loan applicant's evaluation, analyzing applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submitting application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation, corresponding with applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information, compiling loan package and facilitating negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms. In addition, you will approve loan within specified limits or refer loan to loan committee for approval, ensure loan agreements are complete, accurate and timely for loan closing and funding activities, identify and analyze potential loan markets to develop prospects for commercial loans, advise loan manager of external factors that may affect establishment lending policies, such as new or revised legislation and regulations, as well as recommend and implement appropriate changes to establishment policies and procedures, promote and cross-sell other establishment products and services and provide loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs.
The successful candidate must possess a minimum of two years experience originating loans in retail mortgage banking, preferably in a non-prime environment, demonstrated product knowledge, strong sales, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills, a working knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as fair lending responsibilities. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
