When writing a security guard cover letter be sure the hiring manager knows you understand the responsibilities of the job: to guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. Training and experience are preferred so if you have them be sure to include this information in all of your security guard cover letters.

Dear Mr. Bobbitt:
I looked on JobBankUSA.com this week in search of a position as a security guard. I was happy to see your listing for this job. I am ready to begin immediately and would appreciate an in-person meeting so I can show you what I have accomplished in this field since my training and experience with Security Systems in Thomasville, Illinois.
Please call me on my cell phone: 785-897-3434 to set up an interview. I look forward to hearing from you and I also hope you will select me to be one of the security guards who patrols and monitors your clients' premises in order to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
Thank you for taking a moment to review my cover letter and go over my resume.
